Travel My Country · 5-star contracted partners — Vivanta, Khyber Himalayan, Lalit Grand Palace, Chinar Resort · Fortuner chauffeur · private dining curator · +91-700 66 88 931
Luxury in Kashmir is not a swimming pool and a marble lobby. It’s the houseboat suite where the chinar floor creaks softly when the boatman steps onto the front deck at 5:30 AM with your Kahwa. It’s the private picnic at Yusmarg with no other tourist in sight. It’s the Fortuner that gets you to Aru Valley before the day-trippers arrive. This Kashmir luxury tour package is built for travellers who want every small thing handled — the right property, the right table, the right moment — and who have the budget to make it happen. Starting price is ₹85,000 per person for a group of 6; for 2 people, ₹1,15,000 per person.
We manage a small number of luxury bookings each season and every one is personally curated by Imran, our founder. We have direct contracts with Vivanta by Taj Dal View, Khyber Himalayan Resort & Spa, and The Lalit Grand Palace — not commission-based referral arrangements, but actual preferred-partner agreements that allow us to secure rooms in peak season when online channels show no availability, and to arrange table reservations, spa slots, and private experiences that are not bookable through any OTA.
What “Luxury” Actually Means in Kashmir
Kashmir’s top-tier hospitality is genuinely world-class — the Khyber Himalayan Resort is one of the finest mountain properties in Asia — but it requires local knowledge to navigate. The heritage houseboat market has a wide quality range: there are hundreds of houseboats on Dal Lake and only a handful deserve the word “heritage.” Our contracted houseboats are J&K Tourism A-grade certified, built from walnut wood in the 1940s and 1950s, and maintained properly. They have private chefs (not shared kitchen boats), butlers, and the kind of hand-carved furniture that tells the difference between a preserved houseboat and a painted one.
- Heritage houseboat — J&K Tourism A-grade, private chef, butler service, walnut-wood interiors, quiet mooring away from the tourist cluster
- 5-star Gulmarg — Khyber Himalayan Resort & Spa (best property in J&K) or The Vintage Gulmarg for a more boutique experience
- 5-star Srinagar — Vivanta by Taj Dal View, The Lalit Grand Palace (a former royal summer residence), or Lemon Tree Premier
- Pahalgam premium — The Lodge at Pahalgam (riverside cottages) or Chinar Resort river-facing rooms
- Fortuner Legender 4×4 — same vehicle, same driver across all 6 days; no rotation, no surprises
- Private experiences — candle dinner at Char Chinar island, sunset shikara with live rabab music, professional photoshoot, helicopter Srinagar–Gulmarg add-on
Sample 5N/6D Luxury Itinerary
Day 1 — Arrival and Heritage Houseboat
Your driver meets you at Srinagar Airport with a cold-pressed juice for the transfer. Houseboat check-in at Sukoon or equivalent A-grade property on the Boulevard. The afternoon is free to settle in and explore Dal Lake by private shikara. At sunset, a dedicated shikara with cushioned seating, Kahwa, and saffron firni is arranged for a 45-minute lake tour — no crowds, no rush, just the lake turning copper as the Zabarwan hills go dark behind it.
Day 2 — Srinagar Heritage and Gardens
A private heritage-trained cultural guide accompanies you through the Mughal Gardens — Shalimar Bagh, Nishat, and Chashme Shahi in sequence, with the history of each garden explained rather than just walked through. Lunch at Mughal Darbar, the best Kashmiri wazwan restaurant in the city. Afternoon at the Tulip Garden if in season (late March–April) or the old city’s craft quarter otherwise. A full Kashmiri wazwan dinner — 36-dish traditional feast — is served on the houseboat’s foredeck as the city lights reflect on the lake.
Day 3 — Gulmarg and Khyber Himalayan
Transfer to Gulmarg — by helicopter (₹14,000/person, optional) for a 22-minute Pawan Hans flight with full valley views, or by scenic road in the Fortuner. Check in to the Khyber Himalayan Resort & Spa, the closest 5-star to the Gondola and the only property in J&K with a Six Senses-style spa. Gondola Phase I and II are booked in advance to avoid the standard queue. Spa evening at the Khyber.
Day 4 — Pahalgam and The Lodge
Drive from Gulmarg to Pahalgam via the scenic Banihal approach. Check in to The Lodge at Pahalgam, a boutique property of 22 river-facing cottages on the Lidder River bank. The afternoon is at leisure in Aru Valley with a private guide — a 2-hour walk up the valley gives you a taste of the high-meadow landscape without committing to a full trek. The sound of the Lidder running below your cottage window is the backdrop to dinner.
Day 5 — Betaab Valley and Final Srinagar Night
Morning at Betaab Valley and Chandanwari with a private guide and no time pressure. Drive back to Srinagar in the afternoon. Final night at Vivanta by Taj Dal View — the only 5-star hotel directly on the Dal Lake waterfront. Candle dinner at Char Chinar island, reached by private shikara — subject to weather and seasonal availability.
Day 6 — Old City Walk and Departure
A morning heritage walk through the old city with your cultural guide — the wooden mosques, the craft workshops, the covered bazaar of Maharaj Gunj — before a final lunch and airport transfer.

Exclusive Add-Ons
The Srinagar–Gulmarg helicopter (₹14,000/person one-way via Pawan Hans) is the most popular add-on — the 22-minute flight covers the full valley in good weather and the views of the Dal Lake–Wular–Gulmarg geography are difficult to describe. A professional photography half-day (₹8,000 for a 4-hour session with a local photographer) is popular for honeymoon couples. A private cooking class in a Kashmiri home — wazwan preparation with the family who’ll feed you — runs ₹3,500 per person including the meal. Contact us to discuss any specific request.
Frequently Asked Questions — Kashmir Luxury Tour
Is the helicopter Srinagar to Gulmarg actually worth it?
Yes if you have the budget and enjoy flying. ₹14,000 per person one-way for a 22-minute Pawan Hans flight versus a 2-hour mountain drive. The flight gives you a bird’s eye view of the entire Kashmir Valley and the Pir Panjal range that you simply cannot get otherwise. Best for couples on tight schedules, guests who struggle with mountain switchbacks, and anyone who wants an experience they’ll talk about for years. It’s optional — the road to Gulmarg is also scenic.
Which is the best 5-star property in Gulmarg?
Khyber Himalayan Resort & Spa, without qualification. It is the closest 5-star property to the Gondola (2 minutes’ walk), has an indoor heated pool, and is the only property in J&K with a spa at this level. Rooms start at ₹22,000/night in peak season. We recommend Khyber for first visits and alternative boutique properties on return trips.
Can you arrange a private chef on the houseboat?
Every A-grade heritage houseboat we work with has a dedicated chef — this is standard for the category. Share any dietary requirements at booking: Jain, vegan, gluten-free, nut allergies, anniversary cake, regional preference. The chef will plan menus accordingly. No additional charge for dietary customisation.
Is the Fortuner the same vehicle throughout the trip?
Yes — same vehicle, same driver, same registration plate from Day 1 to Day 6. We do not rotate vehicles or drivers mid-trip on luxury bookings. Your driver will have your preferences noted from Day 1. This consistency matters on a 6-day trip in a way it doesn’t on a day transfer.
Can the itinerary be customised?
Completely. The 5N/6D sample is a starting framework. If you want 3 nights in Gulmarg for skiing, or a night at Sonamarg’s Zarinka Retreat, or a Gurez Valley extension, we build it. Every luxury booking is treated as a bespoke commission. WhatsApp Imran directly with your dates and preferences and he will respond with a custom itinerary within 24 hours.
