Group travel to Kashmir requires fundamentally different planning from individual trips. Hotel room-blocking, vehicle fleets, group meal arrangements, bulk permit processing, and coordinated movement at every site: the logistics multiply with group size. We have managed Kashmir group tours ranging from 10-person family reunions to 80-person corporate off-sites and pilgrimage groups. This page covers how group Kashmir trips work and what separates a well-executed group tour from a logistical nightmare.
Types of Groups We Handle
Corporate Groups (10–80 persons): Off-sites, team outings, incentive trips. These typically run 3–5 nights, focus on Srinagar and Gulmarg, and require conference/meeting facilities on at least 1 day. We work with hotels in Srinagar that have meeting room capacity (The Lalit Grand Palace, Vivanta Dal View) and build in structured team activities — shikara group excursions, Gulmarg adventure activities (skiing in winter, hiking in summer), and Wazwan group dinner experiences. Family Groups (10–40 persons): Multi-generational family holidays, family reunions, wedding anniversary trips. The logistical challenge is accommodating the full age range — elderly grandparents need easy access to vehicles and don’t want to walk long distances; children need engaging activities; working-age adults need flexibility. We design itineraries with this gradient in mind. College and Youth Groups (20–60 persons): Popular in May–June. These groups want adventure (trekking, Gondola, water activities on Dal), budget accommodation, and pace — they move faster and cover more ground than family groups. Pilgrimage Groups (10–60 persons): Kashmir has significant religious tourism — Hazratbal Shrine (a significant Muslim pilgrimage site), Shankaracharya Temple, and the Vaishno Devi + Kashmir combination. Many pilgrim groups visit multiple shrines in a single trip. We handle permit coordination, accommodation near shrines, and transport logistics for pilgrim groups regularly.

Group Package Pricing (2026)
Group pricing is calculated per person on a sliding scale — larger groups get lower per-head costs as fixed costs (lead guide, logistics coordination) are spread over more participants. Indicative rates for a 5-night Kashmir group package:
Group of 10–15 (standard tier): ₹22,000–₹28,000 per person including accommodation, all meals, private vehicle fleet, guide, activities. Group of 20–30: ₹18,000–₹24,000 per person. Group of 40+: ₹15,000–₹20,000 per person. These are land-only rates (no flights). Flights are additional and we advise on block booking strategies for large groups. The above includes all taxes, guide fees, garden entry, and Gondola Phase 1 (Phase 2 is additional at ₹800–₹900/person). Corporate groups with team-building add-ons (facilitator, team activities, meeting room hire) are quoted separately based on requirements.
What Makes Group Tours Work in Kashmir
Room blocking: Kashmir’s good properties have limited inventory. A group of 30 needs 15 double rooms minimum — this requires advance blocking (8–12 weeks for peak season, 4–6 weeks for shoulder). Properties we work with regularly understand group dynamics and can accommodate group check-ins and group meal service without the delays that hit walk-in groups at unprepared hotels. Fleet logistics: We use a fleet of SUVs and tempo travellers depending on group size — we do not put large groups in a single bus as this creates problems at narrow passes (Khardung La, Banihal) and makes stop-and-go sightseeing very slow. 3–4 vehicles per 12–15 people is our typical ratio. Group meals: Wazwan group dinners (served on large shared traem copper platters) are among the most memorable meals our group guests describe in their reviews. We pre-arrange these with restaurant partners who can serve a full group simultaneously rather than staggered. Dedicated group guide: All groups of 10+ have a dedicated group leader (English-speaking, Kashmir-specialist) in addition to vehicle drivers. This single point of contact manages group logistics from arrival to departure and is the most impactful element in group satisfaction outcomes.
Adding Ladakh to a Group Tour
Kashmir + Ladakh group tours are fully manageable but require longer itineraries (10–12 nights minimum) and careful altitude management. For corporate and youth groups, Ladakh adds the most exciting experiential elements (Nubra camel ride, Pangong overnight, Khardung La drive). For family groups with elderly members, Ladakh’s altitude (3,524 m in Leh) requires medical consultation and adds acclimatisation days that stretch the itinerary. We design group itineraries that account for the full age and fitness range of each group. Groups of 40+ in Ladakh require advance permit processing (Inner Line Permits for all members for Nubra and Pangong) — we handle this as a standard part of our Ladakh group service.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the minimum group size for a group tour?
We define a group as 10 or more people travelling together. Below 10, we offer family or small-group packages with the same quality of service. Groups of 6–9 are priced as family packages; groups of 10+ qualify for volume-discounted group rates. There is no upper limit on group size — our largest single group Kashmir movement has been 80 persons.
Can we do a houseboat stay for a large group?
Yes — we block multiple houseboats on the same stretch of Dal Lake for groups, so the group stays together as neighbouring boats. A group of 20 would typically occupy 5–6 houseboats (3–4 persons per houseboat) positioned adjacent to each other. Group shikara excursions from these houseboats, with all boats moving together, is one of the most memorable group experiences in Kashmir. We coordinate this regularly for family groups in particular.
How far in advance should we book a group Kashmir trip?
For May–June: 10–12 weeks minimum for groups of 20+. Room-blocking at quality properties for large groups requires lead time, and vehicle fleet availability in peak season is also constrained. For September–October: 6–8 weeks is usually adequate. For corporate groups where the date is fixed by company schedule: contact us as early as possible — we have sometimes had to decline group bookings with insufficient lead time because the property inventory was already committed.
