May–June: Kerala’s monsoon arrives in June, which makes May the prime departure window. Kashmir in May — green meadows, clear skies, 18°C — is everything Kerala’s humid pre-monsoon is not. Book December–January for May travel.
October: Kerala’s Onam season (August–September) gives way to a post-festival travel window in October. Kashmir’s chinar autumn in October is spectacularly beautiful, and October flight prices from Kerala to Srinagar are typically 30% lower than May.
