Day 5 — Srinagar Old City · Shopping · Delhi Flight
Morning in Srinagar: Old City walk (Jama Masjid, Shah Hamdan Shrine, Jamia Bazaar). Transfer to SXR for afternoon flight back to Delhi. Land in Delhi by evening.

April (tulips, blossom), June (snow + warm), October (Chinar gold, clear skies) are the three best months. Avoid late December to late January for Delhi departures — fog at IGI Airport is unpredictable and a 6 AM flight can become a 4 PM flight or a next-day departure without warning.
Is there a direct train from Delhi to Srinagar?
The Udhampur–Srinagar–Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) is under construction. The Banihal–Baramulla section is operational, but the full Delhi-to-Srinagar rail link is not yet complete. Currently the practical options are flight (recommended) or road via Jammu (12–14 hours).
Do I need any permits to visit Kashmir from Delhi?
Indian nationals do not need any permit for Srinagar, Gulmarg, Pahalgam, or Sonamarg. Gurez Valley requires a Protected Area Permit (₹100, arranged locally). Ladakh districts require an Inner Line Permit if you go beyond Srinagar. We arrange all permits for our guests.
